eSur

eSur — Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 11, 2026

eSur (“we”, “us”) helps parents and students in Ulaanbaatar find training and education centers that fit their child’s school shift. This page explains what information the eSur app and website (esurmn.com) collect, why, and what we do — and deliberately do not do — with it.

Location

If you allow it, we read your device’s location once to sort nearby centers by distance. That reading is converted to an approximate area code (a “geohash”) on your own device and used to ask our database for centers nearby. The precise coordinates never leave your device, are never written to our database, and are never logged anywhere — the app is built so that raw location data is used for that one query and then discarded. If you decline location access, the app falls back to the district you tell it you live in.

Account information

You don’t need an account to browse, search, or filter centers. An account is only needed to save a favorite or write a review. You can create one two ways:

  • Phone number — we send a one-time code via SMS through Firebase Authentication (a Google service) to verify it’s really your number. We store the phone number as your account identifier.
  • Google account — Firebase Authentication receives your name, email address, and profile photo URL from Google as part of the standard sign-in process. We do not copy these into our own database, and nothing in the eSur app displays your name, email, or photo anywhere — the app’s own profile is deliberately anonymous by design.

What we store once you have an account

  • Your home district and school-shift preference (used to personalize what you see — this can also be stored locally on your device before you ever create an account)
  • Centers you’ve favorited
  • Reviews you write: a rating, optional text, and optional photos

Access to this data is restricted by database security rules so that only you can read or change your own favorites, reviews, and profile — other users and other centers cannot see it.

Cookies and analytics (web only)

The eSur website uses Firebase Analytics, a Google service, to understand overall usage (e.g. which pages are visited) — this sets cookies and uses local browser storage. Using the website means agreeing to this, via the notice shown on your first visit; we won’t ask again after that. The eSur mobile app does not use cookies — its own analytics disclosure is handled through the Apple App Store and Google Play privacy labels instead.

Crash reporting (mobile app only)

The mobile app uses Firebase Crashlytics to send us crash reports and error logs if something goes wrong, so we can fix it — these include technical details (device type, OS version, stack traces) and not the content of your reviews or favorites. This does not run on the website.

Maps

Center locations are shown using the Google Maps Platform. Loading the map means your browser or device communicates directly with Google under Google’s own privacy policy, separately from what’s described here.

Where data is stored

eSur’s database and file storage run on Google Cloud infrastructure via Firebase — data lives in Google’s Singapore and US data centers, chosen for reliability and cost, not for any secondary purpose.

Children

eSur is a tool for parents and students to find education centers. Accounts are intended to be created and used by parents or students old enough to manage their own account, not directly by young children. We do not knowingly collect account information (phone numbers, Google sign-in) directly from young children.

Your choices

  • Browse the entire app and site without an account or without granting location access.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data (favorites, reviews, profile) by contacting us below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the app changes. We’ll update the effective date above when we do.
